Valeria Gabraina was born in a northern enclave of the Eastern Empire. A child of a line of Sasori, she stood out from the other children with her blonde hair and was involved in plenty of brawls because of it. She was expected to be a Sasori herself and was trained in the arts of war from a young age. Any civilised skills she may have acquired were more by accident than anything else.

These are times of war in the east and she was soon involved in both the fractious infighting of a decaying empire and the onslaught of the Kataro. Her training completed on bloody battlefields where mercy was absent, and hatred drove the combatants on. Her home long lost to barbarians (everyone else is a barbarian), a few years ago she chose to support the wrong claimant to the Imperial throne. Wrong only in the sense that he lost and was blinded. The survivors of his army, Valeria among them, dispersed to the four corners of the globe and were proscribed as outlaws by the victor. Despite her love for her homeland, Valeria ended up across the sea and looking for employment in one of the Ventura – she has no skills for anything other than battle. Now a member of the Wyvern Company, she has arrived in Matora for garrison duty, though who knows where she will end up.

Valeria Gabraina is a reasonably tall, blonde woman with an athletic body. Her blue eyes ever alert under dark, thick eyebrows. High cheek bones, full lips and a pert nose contribute to her attractiveness (APP 13). Her long blonde hair is usually tied back due to her profession of warrior. Likewise, though she does own dresses and gowns, she is more likely to be dressed in boots, pants and tunic – if not full armor when on duty as a member of the Wyvern Company.

Valeria is not well-endowed with curves but neither would she ever be mistaken for a man. Used to a life of battle, her movements are graceful and sure-footed, body slim from so much daily exercise. When she speaks there is the accent of the Eastern Empire to be heard for those who know such things.
