The eldest daughter of the Aldari family — the vast, rich noble landholders of the southern borders where Avicorse meets the Bergatino City States —, Garden is a whip-smart woman who was raised in the secondary tradecraft of her family: intrigue. She trained at her father's elbow as much as her mother's, learning the details of the production of their lands as well as the intricacies of diplomacy. When it came time to work out a vital trade deal with the Gasparis (a family they were, truth to tell, at odds with), it took something extra to secure the outcome. Something to ensure neither family would so easily turn on the (admittedly lucrative deal) other. In the end, the eldest daughter would wed the eldest son.
This is how Garden found herself in Matora; far from home, but also far from incapable. She may not love Cosimo, but she respects him and has become a loyal member of Gaspari. She can find honor in strength and Gaspari is a strong house.
