Misc Info:
The two seem to inspire each other on how to manipulate the masses into stacking the best tower.

The Spettacolo is alive with the final events of the Convivial. Among those events is indeed the stacking competition. Both of the final houses are lining up for this. Getting bodies ready to go, figuring out last minute who should be at the base, who should support the base and which members should climb and grow the tower. In his house colors, blue over sable, Gurian is there, stern of features. Taking the contest way more serious than he should. As he moves about those gathered to support the eventually Zanetti tower, its inevitable he will near the Sabastino group aligning for the same purpose. While trying to motivate, it doesn't seem to hard to tell them, "We cannot lose to Sabastino, this would be embarassing for Zanetti." Which is probably furthest from the truth, considering he met recently with the Conti di Sabastino and spoke otherwise, but in the spirit of fair game, he tries to motivate the people. Finally, giving a pause, he turns to look at the nearby group that is House Sabastino.

*

The Sabastino team is being somewhat more haphazardly pulled together by Alvise di Sabastino, who is definitely here and will remain so throughout the end feast. For some reason he has been conspicuously in attendance at feasting opportunities throughout the Convivial, while the most that can definitely be said about the candle vigil is that it can't be proved that he wasn't there. Surely a huge coincidence.

Alvise pulls the members of the team close, each in turn, in order to determine who appears most hale and alert and begin to motivate their participation. His full intent is to leave the actual organizing of the thing to his sister Arabella, who has done a spectacular job of so doing all throughout the previous day's competitions. He does need to ensure the necessary persons are present, though, and scans the crowd in his turn, looking for red and silver colors or for familiar faces.

*

A turn and a look over, and whether he recognzies the man as a son or member of Sabastino, its clear to Gurian that Alvise is in some standing at least by the way he organizes people. Even if haphazardly, there is some indication of function at least. Lifting a hand over his head, the conte motions with two fingers for another to come close. Giving instruction to this other, Gurian than steps back enough to direct more attention at the red and silver side of this affair. "Well done Sabastino. I hope the good Conte will retain interest in what we've discussed even after Zanetti shows Sabastino how a well constructed tower should look." No telling if that is serious or banter from his expression, which remains stoic it would seem.

*

As contrast, Alvise is seldom able to maintain seriousness in either aspect or attitude for long, and grins in acceptance of what he takes as banter. He does mention, however, that, "Oh, I am certain that whatever discussion you have had with the Conte di Sabastino will be remembered and respected." As he continues collecting participants, Alvise continues, "It is of a certainty that I will be very interested in the look of the Zanetti tower. I hope only that the aesthetic appeal of your design does not also contain within it sufficient strength of body to prevail over us." He takes a moment to look over to the Zanetti group and picks out a strong, broad-backed sort with the look of a member of the base of the tower and says, "When the stacking begins, whatever you do, do not think about an itch developing on the tip of your nose." He lightly scratches his own nose and adds, "That would be infuriating."

The ring of coins eminates from the statue of Marcus the Devout as an individual pays hommage and then lights a candle at his feet.

Crossing his arms over his chest, Gurian nods, "This is good." The Conte returns regarding more serious things outside of stacking bodies. Then he listens to the ideas set forth, turning his own head back to his group. As if the concept of aesthetic versus functional now has him considering; or reconsidering. The thought lingers, his face turns back towards Sabastino. "Yes, you raise a good point, friend." No recognition it would seem, "Strength and integrity amidst the aesthetic of a functional tower." Even as Alvise points to the strong man, who does seem to develop an itch, Gurian too seems to look slightly down. His face moves a little, but he manages to refuse the indulgence of itching his own perceived scratch/itch. "You are right there. It would be infuriating if he developed an itch just at that moment." Could be a threat to that fellow to not fall into the trap, and yet, the man is giving the bridge of his nose the slightest of itches. "It is a good interest, I only hope both towers demonstrate enough effort to afford the appropriate appetite for the feast to come, when the towers tumble down."

*

A clash of swords echos off the buildings surrounding the Spetaccolo as two mercs engage spar during training.

*

"Excellent thought!" Alvise enthuses. "We will close out the Convivial of the Communion with the communion of our respective families and the competition between them, sufficient to enflame our appetites for the closing feast!" Getting into the idea, he turns back to the Sabastino participants, clasping the nearest one on the shoulder and saying, "We are here not just to participate. We are the Houses to compete in front of the entire City." This might be an exaggeration, but there are certainly quite a few people around. "We are ushering in the final celebrations. We can grasp a great reputation for ourselves now, today, and hold it in our hands for the entire year. That pretty girl you are hoping to speak to at the feast should look at you and know that you succeeded." Alvise takes a moment from his efforts to turn back to Gurian and nod respectfully. "You do well for your House, Conte," he says, "and I look forward to the competition."

*

A nod is given a the excellent thought, and Gurian stands idle a moment. Watching as Alvise uses it to further inspire the participants of the Sabastino tower. Well used to manipulate the individuals though that motivation. Whether completely true or not, in this moment it was true enough for them. Whether the girl in question would recognize the person from the competition or not, didn't matter, perhaps the relish after for the winning house would be enough good spirits that the same outcome could come without recognition. He nods, then, "Well played Signore. I can see clearly I've chosen to approach the right House at least." With whatever information it was he'd spoken with the Conte di Sabastino about. "I look forward to the competition and the feast, perhaps we may join tables." Or not, could be a lot of work. "Best of luck to you," he then turns to his own group, doing some of the same, building their spirits.

*

Alvise continues on in trying to convince the Sabastino competitors to give their all. He tries to keep them just worked up and ready to participate, but not too on edge and wearing themselves out before the main exertion.

In doing so, following the others lead, Gurian seems to focus on that motivation, getting them to think winning is the most important part for the glory of this day to come. He forgets to help formulate plans with the group within the context of the competition, just focusing on that motivation.
